What is Full-Spectrum Infrared?
Full-spectrum infrared (or IR for short), is a naturally occurring part of the sun’s spectrum of light. Although infrared is invisible to the human eye, we experience this form of light as heat, which can penetrate human tissue at the cellular level to yield many health benefits.
Why the Wavelength Matters
Full-spectrum refers to three wavelengths of light: near, mid, and far.
…the shortest of the bunch, can penetrate and rejuvenate the skin’s epidermis, promoting collagen growth, healing, and healthy skin, as well as boosting immune function.
…penetrate the body’s soft, inflamed tissues, promoting oxygenation, better circulation, and muscle relaxation by helping to expand blood vessels—but not all infrared saunas produce them. Our full-spectrum sauna, however, IS able to produce such wavelengths by generating and maintaining a 250-degree temperature.
…are the deepest-penetrating of the three and are the most common wavelength IR saunas produce. Studies have shown that far-wavelengths support deep organ decongestion, which can result in not only lower blood pressure, but a slimmer waist.
When mid- and far-wavelengths are combined, they effectively stimulate the cardiovascular system and raise body temperature. When its temperature rises, the body works to cool itself by increasing heart rate, cardiac output, and metabolism as during exercise—ultimately supporting weight loss.
So, What Does it Do for You?
Our full-spectrum IR sauna is therapeutically helpful in all sorts of ways:
Skin, your body’s largest waste-eliminating organ, relies on sweat to remove harmful toxins. If you tend to be inactive, you might not be sweating enough to adequately shed these toxins—which is why our full-spectrum IR sauna can help.
While traditional saunas have been shown to encourage sweat that contains 97% water and 3% toxins, full-spectrum IR saunas typically encourage sweat comprised of only 80-85% water. The remaining 15-20% includes toxins made up of heavy metals, sulfuric acid, sodium, ammonia, uric acid, and fat-soluble toxins.
Because full-spectrum IR light cleanses at the cellular level, exposure to it can release toxins stored in your fat cells (1).
As IR light penetrates joints, muscles, and soft tissues, blood flow increases, releasing toxins from cells and transporting them to the skin’s surface for removal as sweat. Our full-spectrum IR sauna can raise core body temperature by two-to-three degrees, ridding your system of environmental toxins as well. In fact, the US Center for Disease Control estimates that the root causes of more than 80% of all illnesses are found in personal environments or lifestyles.
‘Detoxification is important because it strengthens the body’s immune system and helps the body’s biochemical processes function efficiently so that we are better able to digest the nutrients in our foods. Detoxification has also been shown to be helpful with colitis, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, auto-immune disease, immune deficiency states, autism, ADD and ADHD.’ —Dr. Rachel West, Family Medicine Physician
Our sauna produces near-infrared (NIR) wavelengths, which promote faster cell regeneration, wound healing, and human tissue growth. In one particular study, human cell growth increased by 155%-171% in some cases, while wound size decreased by 36% (2).
Full-spectrum infrared light can penetrate and rejuvenate the skin’s epidermis, promoting collagen growth, healing of wounds, and a generally healthier appearance.
A study published in the journal of cosmetic and laser therapy revealed that when exposed to near-infrared (NIR) sauna therapy, a person’s skin can show significant improvements after just 12 weeks. Participants experienced a reduction in wrinkles and crow’s feet, as well as improved overall skin tone, including softness, smoothness, elasticity, clarity, and firmness (3).
When its temperature rises under full-spectrum infrared light, the body works to cool itself by increasing cardiac output and metabolism as during exercise—encouraging weight loss.
Infrared saunas have been clinically shown to help lower weight and waist circumference over a three-month period. The heat our sauna generates will raise your core temperature by two-to-three degrees, which can lead to an increased heart rate similar to that experienced during exercise. In this warmer state, your body has to work hard to cool itself, causing a healthy sweat—which increases heart rate, cardiac output, and metabolism, burning more calories (3).
Full-spectrum infrared light can penetrate and rejuvenate the skin’s epidermis, promoting collagen growth, healing of wounds, and a generally healthier appearance.
As the heat from an infrared sauna raises your core body temperature, blood flow increases. Consistent infrared sauna sessions, especially at the mid-infrared level (MIR), can continue to stimulate blood flow after a session, supporting muscle recovery, easing pain, reducing inflammation, and speeding up healing.
‘The cardiovascular cleansing properties of these saunas allow the circulatory system to have increased circulation and oxygenation which lowering blood pressure.’ —Dr. Rachel West, Family Medicine Physician
If you suffer from muscle aches or joint pain, time in an infrared sauna may be an effective complement to your treatment, as infrared light penetrates tissue deeply to promote cell growth from the inside (5). In addition, the use of near-infrared (NIR) therapy boosted the production of white blood cells to alleviate inflammation and reduce swelling, two key factors in easing bodily pain (6).

Our full-spectrum sauna offers a natural, clinically proven way to lower blood pressure with just three 30-minute sessions each week. In fact, a University of Missouri at Kansas City study concluded infrared sauna therapy dilated blood vessels and reduced the volume of their inner lining, thus increasing circulation to promote healthy blood pressure (7).
Stress is a component of 75-90% of all visits to primary care physicians, according to the American institute of stress. We invite you to relax in natural comfort with an invigorating deep tissue sweat that will refresh you in new ways—promoting a reduction in stress. Infrared sauna therapy helps the body maintain healthy levels of cortisol, the “fight-or-flight” hormone produced in the adrenal glands that raises heart rate and blood pressure.
THE TRUTH IS: The use of full-spectrum infrared sauna therapy is not intended to fully treat, cure or prevent any illness or condition.
