Cupping Massage
Cupping therapy might be trendy now, but it’s not new, by any stretch! In fact, this therapy dates back to ancient Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures. One of the oldest medical textbooks in the world, the Ebers Papyrus, describes how the ancient Egyptians used cupping therapy in 1,550 BC!
There are many different styles of cupping therapy – our therapists practice ‘dry cupping’. This practice uses a pump instead of the traditional fire to create suction using silicone cups which the therapist can move from place to place on your skin for a massage-like effect.
When incorporated with massage therapy, this practice can help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and wellbeing.
THE TRUTH IS: Cupping Massage is not for everyone. We strongly recommend that you come in for a Custom Massage first – here, you can take time to discuss your specific concerns and needs with your therapist to determine if this type of therapy a good option for you!
