Our Truth
We are Stacey Loizeaux (Owner, General Manager) and Bob Breckel (Operations Manager, Float Master). We’ve been together since 2001 and we live across the street from Truth Mind & Body in the Loveton Farms Community. This is Stacey speaking (writing?) – and this is our story.
Bob and I are no ‘spring chickens’ and we’ve never run a wellness center before. So, why are we telling you all this? Because we want you to fully understand how we got here…and where we want to go.
With over a quarter century of experience under our belts in our respective industries (wireless for Bob, explosives demolition for me), we were both MORE than ready to start the next chapter of our lives.
We’ve both suffered numerous injuries throughout our many years of work (and play) and now we’re paying for it…in spades. Suffering from arthritis, chronic back pain and just a general malaise (and both unwilling to pop pills or go under the knife) we each sought out our own alternative treatments in hopes of finding some relief. For me, it’s been a regular combination of massage and yoga since around 2007 – I got Bob into massage around 2012 and he then discovered floating in early 2016.
In 2015, I retired myself from demolition field work – the physical demands of the job were generating a level of pain that was simply too much to endure any longer. I thought I would really LOVE having all my weekends free for the first time in a long time – nope, I was immediately bored out of my mind. So, I decided to busy myself with crafting all natural bath and body products in my kitchen – stuff for ‘tomboys’ like me – who wanted a pure and honest product that really worked at a fair price – without any phony fragrances, colors or fluffy packaging. Well, they were an instant hit with my friends and family (chalk it up to my A-type personality, I suppose) and with their encouragement, I formed Truth Bath & Body – named so for the product line’s honesty and purity.
When the opportunity arose to take over this amazing, 6,000 square foot space in Sparks Village (precisely 1 mile from our front door, by the way – nice commute, eh?), I knew we had to pounce. I’d been daydreaming about getting into the wellness biz for a very long time – and here was my chance! It didn’t take any convincing to get Bob on board…and as we began conceptualizing what we wanted to create, we quickly recognized that the same “Truth” mission and vision needed to carry over from the bath and body line into this new venture, as well. We wanted to provide pure and honest products and services that really worked at a fair price…and so, Truth Mind & Body was born!
So, here we are: two middle-aged wellness junkies trying to share these incredible ‘medicines’ with as many people as we can! Our goal is to create an open, welcoming, easy-going environment where our clients and staff can realize the very best versions of themselves each and every day.
We understand that self-care often gets pushed down on our list of priorities. This is why we originally decided to be open 7-days/week with awesome hours and offer a wide variety of products and services. We wanted to make wellness as convenient and accessible as possible for everyone. Of course, COVID then came along just shy of our 2-yr anniversary and we’ve had to “roll with the punches”…modifying our schedule to match new consumer demands and staffing capabilities, accordingly.
Rest assured, however, that 0ur commitment remains the same: to offer you only the very best of everything. We’ve spared no expense on our broad collection of state-of-the-art treatment equipment, incredibly talented technicians, experienced instructors and a boutique stocked with only locally made, handmade, made-in-USA or fair trade items including bath and body products, clothing, jewelry, arts, crafts, local foodstuffs, etc.
We will strive to open everyone’s eyes, minds and hearts to our community’s collective needs – with bookable studio space available, we want to host all types of classes, workshops, meditations, serenity groups, etc. Having worked closely with a few different groups within the cancer community in recent years, we will be providing our space to these and other such charitable, mission-oriented groups on an as-needed, gratis basis.
I was given some incredibly good advice early on in this process: “Build the place you would like to go to…and you will attract your tribe.” Well, that’s precisely what we’ve done – and shall continue to do; flexing, bending and reshaping things as we go. We intend to keep our finger on the pulse of this community…listening closely to what you want and need…and then trying our very best to give it to you.
So, this is what we’ve come up with so far…but please know this: we are ALL EARS. If you have some amazing product, craft, skill or just an IDEA that you think would make a great addition to the place, we are WIDE OPEN to suggestions! Bring it ON!!
Bob and I sincerely hope you’ll take a minute to stop in, introduce yourself and let us show you what we’ve built for you. It’s pretty awesome…and we think you’ll agree.
Thanks for listening (reading?). We can’t wait to meet you!
